The enrolled student with SLD who has submitted a request for services for studying and for exams manages his/her relationship with the Teaching Staff independently. He/she can then choose to inform the Professors about the measures he/she is entitled to regarding classes and taking exams or he/she can choose to not inform them and remain anonymous.
However, if the contact with a Professor turns out to be more complex, the student may request assistance from the SLD Service, who will make contact with the Professor, explain the situation and establish a targeted intervention based on the diagnosis.
All steps are agreed with the student and the Service acts only on request and with the permission of the student.
Besides these two options ( direct contact or mediated by the Service ), please note that the student, for issues related to teaching or the curriculum, can also contact the Tutors (link) for SLD in the various departments.
It is not necessary to choose just one way of dealing with the teaching Staff for the whole university career; it is possible to evaluate the most appropriate solution from time to time.
We must stress that in no case will the SLD Service submit the diagnosis filed nor reveal its content to third parties, not even the Teaching Staff.
The service must be requested by contacting the SLD Service. If the request for mediation is linked to an examination / test, the service must be requested by contacting the SLD Service at least 15 working days before the examination.
