Review of quantum states, dynamics and observables. Basics of CP map formalism. Properties of quantum relative entropy. Quantum Mutual Information. Thermodynamic Entropy and von Neumann Entropy.
2. Thermodynamics with Closed quantum system (8 hours).
Work as a probability distribution. Work Fluctuation theorems. Entropy production, friction and the send law. Examples in single and manybody physics. Short cuts to Adiabaticity. Passivity of states and work extraction.
3. Topics in thermodynamics of open systems. (7 hours)
Landauers Principle. Exchange fluctuation theorem. Experimental Considerations.
