Our former student Anna Dall'Anese (Cycle 32) was given by the Inorganic Chemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society the 2020 award for the best PhD thesis in inorganic chemistry (sub-section: organometallic chemistry).
Anna did her PhD in the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Trieste, under the supervision of Prof Barbara Milani, and in March 2020 (a few days before the lockdown) she defended her thesis entitled "Palladium catalyzed copolymerization: from ligand architecture to macromolecule microstructure". Her research activity was focused on the development of new efficient homogeneous catalysts for the controlled synthesis of functionalized polyolefins under mild reaction conditions.
