Texts in an alternative format

What is the service about:

The University of Trieste provides those students with visual impairments or severe physical disabilities texts in non-paper format. With a subscription provided by the University, it is possible to use the virtual library "Spoken Books" of Feltre, which contains numerous texts in digital format that disabled students can access through  the Disability Service.

The University Library too has some texts in digital format, and you can check if they are available in advance on the site www.biblio.units.it/SebinaOpac/.do?locale=eng

If a text is not available in the two libraries, the student  may request it from the Disability Service. The text will then be scanned in different formats ( e.g. pdf ) .

All services are free for the student. Scanning a text which is not present in the virtual libraries takes from one to three working days .

How to request the service:

Each academic year, disabled students - freshmen or those already enrolled – have to submit their request to the Service by filling out the form and delivering it before standard enrolment deadline.

Who grants the service:

The request will be examined by a special Commission that, according to the certificate submitted and the evaluation of the candidate, will identify with the student the best solution.
