Enrolled students with disabilities having submitted a request for services that has been accepted by the Commission can independently deal with the Teaching Staff. Students can therefore choose whether or not to inform them about what they are entitled to for attending classes and sitting examinations or to remain anonymous.
However, when dealing with a Professor turns out to be more complicated, students may apply for the assistence of the Disability Service, which will get in touch with the accademic, explain the situation and agreed a tailored support according to the diagnosis.
All steps are agreed with the student and the Service acts only upon request and with the authorisation of the student concerned.
Students do not need to choose once and for all how to deal with the teaching Staff for the whole university career; it is possible to evaluate the most suitable solution from time to time.
Besides these two options (direct contact or contact mediated by the Service), for issues related to teachings or study plans, students may also contact the Tutors for disability in the various Departments.
Deposited certificates and their contents remain confidential to the staff of the Office.
The service must be requested by contacting the Disability Service. If the request for mediation is linked to an examination / test, the service must be requested by contacting the Disability Service at least 15 working days before the examination.
