Pursuant to the law ( see legislation ), students with disabilities may apply for certain exemptions and compensatory measures to attend classes and sit university examinations.
According to the specific individual's condition and difficulties, to attend classes, you may use
- Assistive technology and a computer for recording lectures
Support from student tutors
- Note-taking support, where absolutely necessary
In addition, and always depending on the certification submitted, you can use the following support to sit profit examinations:
- Additional time for exams (up to 50 % more than the time granted to the other students)
- Oral rather than written examinations, taking into account the individual ability profile and the structure of the individual examination, to be assessed on a case-by-case basis
- Split testing, taking into account the individual ability profile and the structure of the individual examination, to be assessed on a case-by-case basis
- A quiet location for sitting the test
- Accompaniment by student tutors
- Use of specific technological aids and a computer
- Test in an alternative format (e.g. larger print, test on memory stick, etc.)
Each academic year, students with disabilities - either newly or already enrolled - must submit a request to the Service by filling out the form and delivering it before the standard enrolment deadline.
The request will be examined by a special Commission that, according to the certificate submitted and the evaluation of the candidate, will identify with the student the best solution for him/her to follow the lectures and exams.
