Classes and exams

What is the service about:

As established by law ( go to legislation ), students with disabilities may require some dispensatory and compensatory measures to follow the lessons and take exams at the university.

Depending on the conditions and the specific circumstances of the student to attend classes, the following can be used :

  • Assistive technology and a computer for recording lectures
  • Be accompanied by a student acting as a tutor
  • Have coaching for taking notes, if really necessary

Moreover, again according to the certificate presented, when taking the examinations the following interventions are possible:

  • Additional time for exams ( up to 50 % more than the time given to other students )
  • Oral rather than written examinations, taking into account the individual’s circumstances
  • Splitting the test into parts
  • A quiet work station in which to do the exam
  • Be accompanied by a student acting as a tutor
  • Use specific technological aids and a computer
  • Have the text of the test in an alternative format ( i.e.  Large Print, have it put on a memory stick , etc. )

How to request the service:

Each academic year, disabled students - freshmen or those already enrolled - must submit a request to the Service by filling out the form and delivering it before the standard enrolment deadline.

Who grants the service:

The request will be examined by a special Commission that, according to the certificate submitted and the evaluation of the candidate, will identify with the student the best solution for him/her to follow the lectures and exams.
