prof. Mauro Giacca, prof. Serena Zacchigna
When:
02/14/2019 - 02/28/2019

As part of the course, the basic notions of biological drugs will be provided, with particular attention to those of new generation whose development has contributed significantly, from 'beginning of the 80s to today, to the introduction of recombinant DNA technology and progress in the use of monoclonal antibodies. The uses and perspectives of gene therapy in hereditary diseases and stem cell therapy for the treatment of complex adult diseases will also be examined. Particular attention will be paid to new therapeutic technologies based on the use of small RNA regulators (siRNA and microRNA), cells engineered for tumor immunotherapy (T-CAR lymphocytes) and CRISPR/Cas9 technology for precise human genome engineering.
