Our PhD students: Sara Jovanovic

Sara Jovanovic holds a master’s degree in Scienze del Governo e Politiche Pubbliche (University of Trieste, Italy). She was a junior Research Fellow in Social Statistics at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of Trieste University. She was involved in a project about the needs of energy (supply and demands) and the phenomenon of energy poverty of Italian households. She was also engaged in a project about the effects of the spread of Covid-19 epidemic in the population of prisoners inside correctional centers in Italy. She published papers and book chapters about both projects.

Currently, she is involved in a regional project (Friuli Venezia Giulia region) with the Department of Economics, Business, Mathematics and Statistics (University of Trieste) about sustainability, energy, environment and socio-economic indicators construction at regional and municipal level. 

She is starting a PhD in Circular Economy and she would like to implement her research about the phenomenon of food waste in the Italian context using and collating original and existing data analyzed within a proper theoretical and methodological framework.
