Course description: 

We introduce sustainable development analysis focusing on the social, economic, and environmental pillars. We critically discuss a standard definition of sustainability arguing the need of empirical implementations to compare systems across space and time with a sound empirical approach. We address the World Bank Development indicators and suggest alternatives in order to gauge a more accurate picture of the different dimensions of sustainable developments.
