I am Filippo Piccotto, and I earned my Master's Degree in Statistics and Actuarial Sciences in 2021 at the University of Trieste. Currently, I'm in the third year of the Circular Economy Ph. D. Programme at the University of Trieste, under the supervision of Professor Massimiliano Kaucic. My main fields of research encompass portfolio optimization, green and ESG investing, quantitative finance, and the application of soft computing techniques in financial practice.
In 2022, I had the pleasure of presenting my research work A level-based learning swarm optimizer with a hybrid constraint-handling technique for large-scale portfolio selection problems at the World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI) in Padua, Italy. Moreover, on September 4th, 2023, at the 1st "Ph.D. Day" of the Circular Economy Programme at the Department of Economics, Business, Mathematics, and Statistics of the University of Trieste, I presented the paper Optimal portfolio allocation with environmental, social and governance ratings where I received the Best Presentation Award.
In addition to my research, I am teaching assistant of Prof. Massimiliano Kaucic for the "Economics" Bachelor course Matematica Generale. Previously, I have been teaching assistant of Professors Gioia Di Credico and Nicola Torelli for the course Data Analytics for the Bachelor in "Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics".
