Research Title:
Developing Sustainable Energy Communities in Friuli Venezia Giulia: Motivations, Value Creation, Localization, and Public Administration Support
Project description:

This research project aims to contribute to the sustainable development of Energy Communities (ECs) in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region by examining various aspects of ECs and their implementation.

The research question focuses on understanding the motivations for joining ECs, exploring the potential use of net profits for value creation, identifying suitable localizations, and examining the role of Public Administration (PA) in ECs.

1.To achieve the research objectives, a mixed-method approach will be employed. Surveys, interviews, and a literature review will be conducted to understand individuals' motivations for joining ECs. Quantitative and qualitative analyses will be employed to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of using net profits for value creation within ECs. Geographic Information System (GIS) tools will be utilized to identify suitable localizations based on renewable energy potential and existing infrastructure. Regulatory framework analysis, financial incentive evaluation, and stakeholder engagement will be employed to examine the role of PA in ECs.
2.The expected findings of this research project include insights into the motivations of individuals joining ECs, potential value creation initiatives using net profits, recommendations for suitable localizations, and an understanding of the role of PA in supporting ECs.
