Surfaces, 2D–materials and Nanoclusters

The experimental activity of the Surface Science Laboratory is dedicated to the the development of a variety of surface sensitive techniques to study clean and adsorbate covered surfaces and interfaces and to the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials down to the atomic lenght scales.

Research activity is focussed in nanoscience, nanotecnology, nanocatalysis. In the last 10 years the interst has moved also to 2D materials (such as graphene, h-BN, TM-dichalcogenides, borphene, etc) and to atomic clusters precisely selected in their mass with single atom accuracy, to reveal the preculiar relationship between their structural and  physical/chemical properties.
